Eurosail 2019 - (31.08 - 06.09.2019) - [Engl.] Version below

-[ENGL.] Version-

What is the Eurosail?

The Eurosail is as the name suggests, a Europe-wide sailing event over a week. 2019 is already the 29th event of its kind. The sponsors of this annual event are Round Table, Old Table and Ladies' Circle. The approx. 150 participants bear the costs via a participation fee themselves. Surpluses are used for social projects. Concrete organizer is always a local table.

Who is behind it?

Round Table (RT) is one of the service clubs and is a party-political and denominational neutral association of young men in responsible occupational positions aged 18 to 40 years. The idea and organization of Round Table has its origins in the tradition of English club life: regionally independent "tables" bring together about 15 to 25 young men of different professions and spheres of activity. In Germany, 233 tables with 3558 members are active. Worldwide, the association has 35,000 members in 60 countries.

Many of the 40-year-old members join the Old Tablers (OT). Today, OT owns nearly 6,000 members in more than 250 tables throughout Germany. Since Round Table and Old Table are in principle reserved for men, women have joined forces in the Round Table in the so-called Ladies' Circle (LC). LC today has over 12,000 members in 38 countries.
